The Clinical Informatics Track is a longitudinal, mentored pathway for Internal Medicine residents interested in health information technology, data-driven care, and digital innovation. The track provides structured didactics, hands-on experiential learning, and scholarly mentorship to prepare residents for leadership roles in clinical informatics, quality improvement, and health system transformation. Residents complete the track alongside their core residency training and graduate with a Clinical Informatics Track Certificate of Completion.
Beyond individual trainee professional development, the track is designed to create program-wide impact, with informatics-trained residents contributing to shared educational initiatives, quality improvement efforts, and system-level innovations that enhance clinical care and learning across the entire residency program.
Mission
The mission of the Clinical Informatics Track is to equip Internal Medicine residents with foundational knowledge, practical skills, and scholarly experience in clinical informatics. Through mentored projects and experiential learning, the track aims to develop physician leaders who can optimize electronic health records, leverage clinical data, improve care delivery, and thoughtfully integrate digital tools into patient-centered healthcare.
