The Department of Internal Medicine forms the cornerstone of a strong academic institution. The combination of a thriving tertiary care hospital and a busy Veterans Affairs hospital provides the basis for training. We also have multiple ambulatory settings in which residents are actively involved in the care of a variety of patients and an inpatient procedure service. Our facility possesses a full array of subspecialty medical and surgical services to facilitate resident training.
Although the facilities and subspecialty support help to anchor our program, it is clear that the true strengths of our program are our excellent housestaff and faculty. The faculty is dedicated to the development of exceptional physicians. The residents form a cohesive, supportive group that helps our trainees grow both individually and as members of a healthcare team.
