April 2026 IM Resident Shout-Outs
Catarina Jim: Catarina was great to work with. Not only she was always one step ahead of the game helping with new admission and taking care of an active patient list, but she was very efficient and knowledgeable. To say the least she worked until the very last day before baby Jim started to want to get out. Looking forward to seeing you when you come back!
Jack Burcher: It was great working with Jack during my Heme/Onc rotation. He advocated for rounds to be efficient and brought snacks to share with the team. He was always eager to share Epic tip/tricks with us to help with workflow in the inpatient and outpatient setting.

Maddie Starcher: Maddie did an amazing job on Shands Gold. Always brought the positive energy, was an advocate for her patient’s, and was a blast to work with. I see why neuro is her calling, but the medicine folks will be losing a gem! Maddie was an awesome co-intern and always kept the vibes great!

Matt Martinez: It was my second time working with Matt. He is always in a good mood and brings great vibes to the workroom. His patient list was probably one of the most active in our team but regardless he managed to address all concerns from nursing and patients. Great team player.

Mike Jerrett: Literally couldn’t have asked for a better co-intern to be on MCT with than Mike! So smart & reliable. Fueled by coffee and keeping the energy! Tackled difficult placement situations with grace. Great co-intern!

Grace L & Courtney M: Huge shoutout Grace & Courtney for their ambulatory noon conference on asthma and COPD – such a helpful, high-yield presentation! Loved the interactive case. Presentation skills on point and keeping everyone engaged. Really well done!

Shay Bidani: Shay was an outstanding intern to work with. He’s the kind of intern you hope to get on your team. He was inquisitive, efficient, and fun to work with. He has strong clinical judgement, and developed solid plans for his patients. It was great working with him!

Rex Farris: Shout-out to Rex for his strong fund of knowledge and how happy he was to teach. He always stepped in to handle tougher situations without hesitation and helped keep the team moving. Overall, a great senior to learn from and work with. Will also never forget our trips to the lounge for snacks!

Matt Giansiracusa: Shout out to Matt for being an amazing senior on Gold, letting us have more autonomy, and making sure rounds were painless so we could get all our work
Shwetha Sanapoori: Loved working with Shwetha this rotation. She was an absolute discharge queen. Also appreciated how easy she was to talk to, our yapping sessions definitely made the days better.

Tawfiq Khasawneh: Working with Tawfiq on MCT was the best!! He is so smart, efficient, and always knew how to make our busy days so much fun. Truly top-tier senior energy! A great cardiologist in the making.

S MICU: Eryk K & Lisa P: Eryk and Lisa powered through NINE discharges and four admissions their very first day on service at 8E flawlessly.

MCT: Mike J & Caitlin M: Big shoutout to Mike & Caitlin for absolutely crushing it this MCT rotation. They were hardworking, eager to learn, and brought great energy to the service every single day. Running MCT with just two interns can be a grind, but they made it look easy with how prepared and reliable they were. Their teamwork was the highlight, always supporting each other, splitting the workload fairly, and making sure nothing fell through the cracks. Both of them should be really proud of the work they put in, and it was a pleasure working alongside them.
