Alec Murphy: Working with Alec was peak fun at the VA. He was always showed up with genuine high energy and support of all team members. He consistently encouraged us through tough days and kept us laughing. He’s now the CPRS maxing, bene travel king and helped his teammates with their’s. Hope to work with him again sometime soon!
Emma Leone: Emma is one cool cucumber. She is organized, thoughtful, and efficient and was never rattled by the endless social curveballs the VA threw her way. She navigated forming complex plans involving multiple consultant teams without expressing a word of frustration (unlike her senior). She was a stabilizing presence in the workroom, and she was a huge help to ensuring tasks for the whole team got done and done well!

Osama Alzoubi: Osama is such an incredible co-intern! He’s unbelievably knowledgeable, always on top of things, and somehow still makes time to help everyone around him. No matter how busy the day gets, he stays positive and approachable, which makes such a difference on the team. His willingness to jump in, support others, and share what he knows doesn’t go unnoticed. We’re so lucky to have him as a teammate!

Anil Patel: Anil killed it on MICU! Thankfully not the patients. He was always on top of his work, making sure all orders were in and followed up on. His attitude was always positive and he never shied away from stepping up especially when things got busy.

Eryk Hernandez: Eryk is an incredible co-intern! The way he cares about his patients is so genuine and obvious in everything he does – he goes above and beyond to make sure they’re heard, supported, and well taken care of. He also always made sure that we had the perfect music in the workroom and we love his calm, chill energy on busy days. He’s always there for his team and his patients, and it truly makes a difference. We’re lucky to work alongside him!

Ricardo “DJscrubz” Chavez: This man is a king. simple. Its rare I have a counter part who shares my level of positivity, but in Ricardo I found my match. It was pleasure working with him. No matter how swamped we got in consults, we got through it with vibes, smiles, and Khanh’s cookies. Chippie ricky!!!! the most hard working and empathetic. showed up to work before i even opened my eyes for the day. he was always so positive and when we had to stay late no complaints ever escaped! idek if he knows how to complain! stayed on top of orders and nursing concerns like a champ. i miss my chippies with every rotation that passes.

Caitlin McGonegal: Caitlin is not only very smart but also a great team player! She is very kind and was always open to helping! Having such a wonderful co-intern made the rotation easier.

Yussif Abuharaz: Yussif; yuchip!! the best attitude, the biggest team player. vibes were always up with yuchip and the chippies. amazing follow through, kept patients, families and the team up to date always. music always hit and the chippies will live on forever.

Al-Nazer: Majed deserves a big shoutout. For one, this man held his own on a wild nights rotation putting out fires left and right (not my patients though 🙂 ). But while I was in the hospital working all day while fasting for Ramadan, he would bring food and drink for me to break my fast when it was time and I was dropping off signout after a busy late call day. Super thoughtful king.

Josh Hunter: Josh did a fantastic job on the IM service. He was someone the whole team could rely on without hesitation, consistently showing up prepared, organized, and ready to tackle whatever came his way. Despite being our team radiologist, he successfully caught digital ischemia in a patient early. Solid music choice as well.

Lisa Patel: Lisa did an amazing job on Shands Blue. She is incredibly dependable and always one step ahead, especially when urgent issues came up. She handled high-acuity patients with calm confidence, kept close tabs on consult recommendations, and made sure nothing fell through the cracks. In addition, she also somehow kept her eyebrows looking exactly the same despite investing in an expensive eyebrow job – truly the most consistent thing on the service.

Taylor Kagel: Taylor did a phenomenal job on Shands Red. She communicated well with her patients and the team!

Mishma Farsi: Mishma did an excellent job Shands Red. She was always willing to help the team!

Tayna Latortue: Tayna was a fearless leader on MGI and always advocated for her interns!

Eddie Velazquez: I worked with Eddie on my VA Hospitalist rotation. He is very nice and is amazing to work with. I appreciate him a lot for his help. Eddie is a star 🌟.

Divya Chopra: Divya was the perfect co-resident on VA MICU. She encountered multiple challenging situations whether it be due to medically complex patients, difficult family dynamics, or limitations of the system but handled it all with thoughtfulness and empathy. <3

Austin Natalie: Austin is an AMAZING senior! His cardiology knowledge is truly next level – he makes complex topics easy to understand and always takes the time to explain the “why” behind our patient management. Even more impactful is his constant encouragement and positive feedback, especially on tough days. He creates a supportive environment where interns feel confident and capable caring for their patients. We’re so lucky to learn from him! 💙

Hannah Zuercher: Hannah and baby Zuercher: Hannah has been a very supportive senior. She knew how to handle tricky situations in the MICU and brought good vibes to the team.

Noah Gilberstadt: Noah G was an outstanding doctor for our veterans, most notably for a family grappling with the sudden deterioration of their loved one. He supported them by continuing to check in daily before heading home, even after the patient was upgraded to MICU, and providing some levity by bonding over hunting experiences. He even went above and beyond for his co-intern, getting a pesky iMed consent for blood transfusion for one of her patients.

Khanh Huynh: Khanh (THE QUEEN CHIP) is one of one. Us chippies were down in the trenches on MICU and I dont think we would have made it out the other side without the leadership of this queen. Incredibly talented person who never lacked an answer to a question or folded under a high pressure situation. Genuinely one of the most impressive doctors we have here. Above all, one of my favorite people. Vibes were incredible from day one, 6am sharp. she went out of her way to make us cookies on multiple occasions and there wasnt a day that went by that she ensured our caffeine stores were replenished. She went to bat for our team several times and supported us no matter what. As tough as the grind was those 2 week, the chippies made going in everyday actually pretty enjoyable. Long live the MICU chippies.

Ali Wells: Ali was a fun, fearless leader on VA Orange. She wouldn’t let a late admit get the team down. She was the perfect mix of supportive, hands-off, and goofy that we all needed in our lives this month. Thank you Ali!

Sally F & Caitlin M: Sally and Caitlin were ROCKSTARS in the MICU – they navigated difficult patient conversations and family situations with ease and put a noticeable amount of care and diligence into providing top-notch patient care.

Alice H, Nastia T, Nikhila S: Alice, Anastasia, and Nikhila were all fantastic interns to work with and easy to get along with. I had a fun time working on a rotation that is notoriously challenging due to their great vibes and hardworking attitude.

Josh H and Jess M: Josh and Jess were great team players on VA Green who helped each other, knew their complicated patients inside out, great at navigating complex social situations, all while we had 4 different attendings in 1 wk! I trusted them fully and am sad that they won’t be continuing in IM. Radiology and Neuro are lucky to have them!
