I am excited to be serving this year as Chief Resident for the inpatient services at UF Health/Shands.  I will be coordinating our inpatient teaching services (General Wards, ICU/CCU, Cardiology, GI, Heme/Onc), leading resident reports, providing lectures, and organizing noon conferences.  This year we are working hard to help improve critical care exposure and training for our Housestaff with expanded ICU’s in preparation for our new Hospital Tower opening in 2018.  Our curriculum of protected daily morning reports/noon conferences/Grand Rounds continues to be a major factor that our residents enjoy.  We are fortunate to have a Chairman of Medicine, Dr. Hromas, and Program Director, Dr. Edwards, who support our educational mission every day and are very receptive to resident opinions and feedback.   In fact, we make sure meet at least monthly to discuss all of our residents’ concerns with our PD and Chair, and both Dr. Hromas and Dr. Edwards frequently round on our inpatient services to better understand the needs of our program.

I am very happy to have continued my medical training at UF, and I am excited for what this Chief year has to offer.  The UF Internal Medicine Residency program continues its strong reputation for education along with excellence in clinical medicine and research.  We hope to continue to attract strong candidates who share our mission.  I encourage you to come to see our program and what Gainesville has to offer.
